Are you dreaming of the bustle of an interesting city and at the same time do you need to rest on the beach of play a quality roudn of golf? The visit Lisbon. Get on the plane in Prague and in four hours you could be drinking Vnho Verde in the centre of this amazingly interesting city.

Lisbon will force itself on you like a strike of lightning: It will seduce you and never let go. There is the noise of the yellow trams, riding through crooked paths. You will find multi-coloured houses with tiled facades and French windows and the numerous cafes and restaurant in the popular Barrio Alto area. Amongst travellers, Lisbon is famous as the city of music where everyone can find there genre. They play everything, from jazz to nostalgic Portuguese fado. And the light! The sun reflection on the always wavy river Tejo makes the whole city shine. This is why Lisbon has been nicknamed the White City.

Lisbon has grown by the Atlantic Ocean on seve hills, therefore you should expect some challenguing walks than on some of the mroe flat cities in Europe. The reward for your hard walk will be and awesome view points in Lisbon. One of these is definitely the moorish castle Castelo do Sao Jorge. Not only the field is like a pocket handkerchief, but you can admire the huge river Tejo too, over which the longest bridge in Europe arches. The bridge has been named after Portuguese explorer Vasco de Gama and it measures 17,5km.

As you walk back down from the Castelo do Sao Jorge castle, you find yourseld in middle ages moorish area of Alfama. Houses in this part of Lisbon are some of the very few that sustained a devastating earthquake back in 1755. Thanks to this you can experience the beauty of the national Pantheon temple, which took 300 years to build and where Portuguese presidents are buried.

You can spend your evenings at the docks of river Tejo, where you can see the renovated dockyard. The old warehouses turned into modern restaurants and cafes and it is an experience to spend time here. Above your head the two-storey bridge called 25th April is sticking out, connecting Lisbn to the town of Almada, resembling the Golden Gate bridge in San Francisco. Perhaps as both were built by the same American company.

And if you are not ready to go to sleep before midnight, go have a glass at the Bairo Alto area, where they are only just waking up.

Tivoli Avenida Liberdade – an elegant place to stay
If you wish to see a lot in Lisbon, then choose the centrally located Tivoli Avenia Liebrdade hotel, located at the square by the same name, only few minutes walk from the historical part of the city. You will find three restaurant in the hotel. Terraco restaurant, at the spacious roof terrace of the hotel, offers traditional Portuguese cousine, spiced with beautiful view over the city and the river Tejo. The art of the chef Rui Paula was awarded with Michelin Star.

An ex-braserie Flo welcome the guests these days at the Cervejaria Liberdade restaurant. The offer included fish and seafood displayed in the vitrine, all you need is to make your choice. Steak Tartare will be prepared right at your table, so you won’t be able to resist.

At the Café Liberdade you can taste the famous cakes Pastéis de Nata, whilst in the tropical gardens by the pool you can refresh yourself with cool drinks and tasty canapés.
